Brookland Schools has been proud to have Coach Speer serving as Head Coach for the past 4 years. It is Coach Speer’s 15th year as a head football coach.
Prior to joining the Bearcats, he had the pleasure of building the program at Conway Christian from the ground up and was responsible for getting the Corning program back on track. His teams have reached the state playoffs in 9 of his past 14 years.
Coach Speer grew up in a military family and lived in numerous places all over the world. He graduated from Junction City High School in Kansas. After playing for Independence CC and Baker University, he graduated from Kansas State University with a BS in Kinesiology. During his last two years of college, coach was honored to work with the Kansas State football program.
Coach Speer is married to Kim Speer and they have two sons Lukas and Logan.

In 2015 and 2018 he led the soccer team to 2 conference championships wins.
Coach is married to Heather Parsons and has 2 Children: Samantha (11) and Alexis (7).
We are also lucky to have Coach Keith Davis serving in his 2nd year with the Brookland Bearcats.
Coach Davis is from Harrisburg, AR and graduated from Harrisburg High School. He graduated from Arkansas State University.
Coach Davis coached from 1993-2016 at Harrisburg High School, serving as Head Football Coach for 16 of those years.
Keith has been married to his wife Sarah for 25 years and they have 2 children: Zach Davis and Hannah Lawrey. They have 2 grandchildren: Hudson Davis and Eva Lawrey.
Deffensive Coordinator/Line Coach
Brookland is thankful to have Coach Sean Hammond serving as a Deffensive Coordinator and Line Coach. This is Coach Hammond’s third year with Brookland.
Coach Hammond graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1985 where he played football and ran Track. He was the Runner up at the 1985 State Track Meet for Shot Put and was also the Runner up in the Meet of Champs that same year.
Played one year of College football at the University of Arkansas Monticello and transferred to Arkansas State to play football the next year. Graduated from ASU in 1990.
He began coaching at Marked Tree High school in 1990 and was the Jr. High Head Coach, Sr. O-Line, and D-Line coach there through 2000. From there he went on to Harrisburg were he was Jr. High Head Coach, O-Line Coach, and D-Line Coach for 5 years. In 2005 he joined Wynne High School as the Head Jr. High coach and was there until 2010. In 2010 he went back to Harrisburg as the Jr. High Head Coach, O-Line Coach, D-Line Coach, and Defensive Coordinator until 2015. He joined Brookland in 2016 as the High School O-Line and D-Line Coach. He also helps with the Jr. High Team.
Coach Hammond has also coached a variety of other sports during his career including: Bowling, Golf, Tennis, Baseball, and Basketball where his Marked Tree team made the Elite at the state tournament.
Defensive coordinator/line coach
We are grateful to have had Coach Joey Potter on staff for 9 of the 11 years Brookland has had a football program.
One of coach’s proudest moments was being a part of the first ever Friday night football game played in Brookland history. “Its been pretty special to have had the opportunity to be a part of the many “firsts” that has happened since the program started.” said Coach Potter.
Prior to joining the Brookland Football program, Coach Potter spent 4 years with the Rivercrest Colts. During his time at Rivercrest, he served as the linebackers coach for the Jr. High Colts as well as the hitting coach for the Lady Colts Softball Team.
In addition to his duties ad a Deffensive Coordinator and Line Coach, he serves as the Boys Head Track Coach in the Spring.
Coach Potter graduated from Ridgecrest High School (Paragould) in 1990, and later attended Arkansas State University where he graduated in 2005 with his B.S.E. with a major in Physical Education. He obtained is Master Degree in Secondary Administration from William Woods University in Fulton Missouri in 2008.
He and his wife, Jana Potter, have been married for 26 years and have 2 children. Makeyla Potter, who is a lab tech/x-ray tech and Colton Potter, a Brookland High School alumnus. Colton is attending Missouri Baptist University on a football scholarship where he is a member of the Missouri Baptist Spartans Football Team.
Jr. High coach
Coach Brian Haynes has been teaching and coaching for the past 16 years and we are fortunate to have had him here at Brookland Schools for the past 5 years.
Coach Haynes played Football, Basketball, Baseball and Track in High School and played one year for the Arkansas Sate Indians (now Red Wolves) 94-95
Coach Haynes has coached the following sports:
Football for 13 years
- As Assistant Coach in Trumann he helped lead the team to 2 Conference Championships.
Basketball for 6 years
Softball for 14 years
- As Assistant Coach at Nettleton he was a part of the 2002 State Championship team
- As a Head Coach he has 3 Conference Championships and 2 District Championships.
- At Trumann, his team reached 1 Regional Championship and was the 2010 State Runner-up.
- Here in Brookland, He served as Assistant Coach for 1 Conference Championship and 2 Regional Championships and 1 state semi–finals appearance.
Coach Haynes is married to Jana Haynes. They have 2 children: Kamdon Slade Haynes (5) and Kirklyn Claire Haynes (3).
Assistant Jr. High/7th grade coach
We are excited to welcome Coach Matt Reynolds to our 7th and Junior High teams this year. Coach Reynolds graduated Jessieville High School in 2011 and attended Arkansas State University until 2015. He has spent the past two years at Marion where he started off as a 7th grade coach but moved up to Jr. High Offensive Coordinator.
Under his offensive play calling, the Marion Jr. High team averaged 36 points per game and had a record of 9-1. Matt has also spent the past two years as an Assistant Softball coach at Marion.

We are grateful to have Amanda Coleman-Salecki as trainer across our athletics programs. Amanda grew up in Holly Grove, AR and went to Marvell Academy.
She graduated from ASU in 2005 with her Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training. She went on to work for St. Bernard’s Sports Medicine and started her first job at Nettleton High School. In July 2011, she officially became a Brookland Bearcat.
Amanda is married to Jason and has a son, Shane.
